Commissioned by the FAOPMA, the Chinese Pest Control Association will host the 21st FAOPMA Annual Conference (Beijing 2009) in Beijing, China. The exhibition “Keep Pests out of Our Life” will also be held concurrently. FAOPMA is the most recognized organization in pest control industry in the Asia and Oceania region; its annual conference is one of the most important events of the industry. 5. Conference registration and fees
The organization and individual who would like to attend the conference, please send the Registration Confirmation (please see attachment 2) to CPCA’s E-mail box (cpca@cpca.cn) before Oct. 1st, 2009 or fax to association’s office, or log in www.cpca.cn to register online. Please remit the registration fees to the CPCA account by bank-to-bank transfer.
If you register on or before May 31th, 2009, the registration fees will be 2000 Yuan (300 USD)/person; after that date, the registration fees will be 2300 Yuan (340 USD)/person. Registration date is the date when the bank-to-bank transfer is confirmed.

Call for papers for the Beijing 21st FAOPMA Annual Meeting
To whom it may concern,
The Beijing 21st FAOPMA annual meeting will be held from Nov. 25th to Nov. 27th, 2009 in Beijing, China. The theme of the annual meeting is “The Important Role of the Pest Control Industry in Major Events”. The meeting will have special presentations, expert’s academic symposium and other technical and educational sessions. The exhibition “Keep Pests out of Our Life” will also be held concurrently. The papers and related materials will be published as a special edition of FAOPMA 2009 Book.
1. Guidelines for paper submission:
The theme of the annual meeting is “The Important Role of the Pest Control Industry in Major Events”, the paper(s) shall not have been made public prior to submission; it shall be related to the pest control activities occurred in association with major events; such as after the occurrence of major natural disasters, public health emergencies, before and after large-scale projects. Paper that addresses other new methods, new technologies, new achievements, new information, other related academic papers, technical reports, association affairs, vocational training and other related field are also welcomed.

The Important Role of the Pest Control Industry in Major Events
Note: the major events include but not subject to: Olympic Games, World Expo and other international large conferences and exhibitions or disaster emergencies: Tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, snowstorms, droughts and other natural disaster; SARS, dengue fever, plague and after the occurrence of major infectious diseases or major projects; construction of such projects as the reservoirs, railroad, development zones, large-scale urban renewal projects, etc.
Other topics:
· The pest controls sustainability and environmental protection;
· Globalization trend of the pest control business;
· Vocational training and human resources strategy of the pest control industry;
· Information network-building and communication strategy of the pest control；
· The research and development of application equipment and progress of application technology;

2. Requirements
· Submitted materials need to be of high academic and professional standards.
· The closing date for the submission is May 1st, 2009.
· The article requires an executive summary and the summary must not be less than 100 words.
Please ensure that your paper covers the range of the above-mentioned contents. Your contribution will be published in the journal of this annual meeting if selected by our evaluation committee; some of these articles will be selected for special presentation upon evaluation committee’s recommendation. All such presentation will obtain a certificate issue by FAOPMA 2009.

5. Application procedures and booth assignment
(1) Please fill in the “Application Form” carefully and stamp an official seal or sign by authorized representative, fax or mail to the CPCA; please also remit the booth fees to CPCA’s bank account, and fax the confirmation to +86 010-58235140 for verification.
(2) Booth assignment will be based on first come, first serve basis.
(3) Booth confirmation: If the exhibitors have reserved booth; the booth shall be confirmed within ten days of the wire confirmation; the booking will be canceled without wire confirmation from the exhibitor.
(4) We will fax “participation confirmation” to the exhibitors and post the invoice within five working days after exhibitor’s fund arrived.
6. Products promotion activities:
News conference of product exhibition or technical seminar/presentation of the products: CPCA will organize at minimum of 50 people to participate, one hour or less per session, 20,000 (2,921 USD) RMB per session.
